Madrid, Toledo and Andalucia 29 June till 16 July 2002 From Saturday 29 June till Tuesday 16 July 2002, my mother and I travelled to Spain for a trip past its centrally located capital Madrid, the nearby city of Toledo and then onwards to the southern region of Andalucia, where we visited the cities of Córdoba, Sevilla, Granada and Málaga (with nearby coast town Fuengirola). It was a spectacular trip, tiring (because of the heat and especially when we were dragging our more and more heavy backpack from one hostel to another) but well worth it! We saw the most beautiful musea, churches, mosques, palaces, parks and other sites of the cities we visited. We enjoyed the weather and the beautiful Spanish guys as well of course! On the following pages, you will find information about our trip, decorated with lots of pictures and personal experiences. The last page will provide you with some useful links and information, should you ever want to visit these cities yourself. Of course, you can also mail me with any questions. I'll be glad to help you out with useful hints. You can start here and work yourself all the way through the picture pages or you can pick a city from the list below. As I have chosen to put all pictures and information of one city on one single page, some pages might take some time to load.
You can always click the pictures for a larger version! I also wrote a diary during my trip. The result of that is in a Word - file, which you can download if you want to get a bit more insight into what I was thinking about what I saw. Don't worry, you won't read any overly emotional stuff ... Just something that is (I hope) a little funny and makes the historical information that is sometimes a little dry on the following pages a bit more lively. Click here for the Dutch version or here for the English version of the report.Next: Introduction |
