Who am I?

I was born on 18 September 1979 and grew up in Meulebeke, a village in the province of West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. As from November 2002, I live in Tielt , a nearby town. I have a sister Kim, who is 2 years and 8 months younger than myself.

I studied Greek-Latin in high school, and although I initially thought I would later teach these languages myself, I finally started studying for teacher English-geography-computer science at a teacher training college in Gent. I graduated a few years ago and am now teaching computer courses to adults in a school in Izegem called PCVO West.

I love cats and animals of the same family (tigers, panthers, lions ...). I've always had cats and I always will ... so don't be surprised to see pictures of cats all over this website!

I love languages and wished I could speak hundreds of them. Unfortunately, learning takes some time. I speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and might (but I emphasize "might") be able to survive when stranded with German-speaking people (I haven't tested this yet though).

My hobbies include computers and Internet, travelling, talking, shopping and having my own opinion, no matter what other people think. I love music, and especially the music of my favourite singers Roch Voisine, Richard Marx and the group Savage Garden and its former singer Darren Hayes. I loves watching TV and movies. Amongst my favourite shows are "House", "24", "Desperate Housewives ", "Lost", a few Belgian programs and not to forget the many sci fi shows such as "X-Files" and the Star Trek shows. I even like several old sci fi shows such as "Blake's 7" and "Space 1999". My favourite actors are Hugh Laurie, Harrison Ford, but also many many others. I loves sci fi movies ("Star Wars" forever!!!) and action stuff; I don't mind a good laugh either.

I adore both Canada and Spain because they are beautiful and friendly countries and because I have many friends there. The single most wonderful experience of my life was living Barcelona for 3 months. I am totally in love with this city.

My most important philosophy is: "do what you want and not what other people want", along with "you won't get anywhere if you don't dare to open your mouth and shock some people from time to time".
